Melanie McNulty is an award-nominated actor, writer, director, and acting coach based in Los Angeles.

She has appeared in network television and films (Chicago Med (NBC), Rendezvous in Chicago, The West Virginian Starfish, Compartmentalization Storage Facility).

As a voice actor, her credits include work for Smithsonian Magazine, Meibo Pharmaceuticals, and the Harris Walz Campaign. Born in Chicago, Illinois to a second generation Greek-American mother, and a German-Irish-American father, she got her start in the Windy City as a young actress, working in local indie films, music videos, commercials and plays. One of her first professional jobs, T-Mobile’s viral “Home For The Holidays” campaign, got her Taft-Hartley at only 17 years old.

She went on to receive a B.A. in Theatre-Acting with minors in Dance and TV/Film from Indiana University-Bloomington and a certificate from the renowned Gaiety School of Acting-The National Theatre School of Ireland in Dublin.

As a seasoned stage performer, McNulty worked extensively in Chicago’s theatre scene, earning critical acclaim for roles in Title X (Artemisia Theatre), Constellations, and Digging Up Dessa (Theatre Above the Law). Her direction was also recognized by Chicago theatre’s prestigious Joseph Jefferson Awards, earning her a nomination for Best Director for Cry It Out (Theatre Above the Law), where she served as a company member from 2020 to 2024.

Beyond performance and directing, McNulty is a sought-after acting coach and teaching artist with over a decade of experience training actors.

In addition to private coaching and consulting, she has taught at top institutions including Youth Academy of Dramatic Arts (YADA), Actors Training Center, Skyline Children’s Theater, Dovetail Studios, Emerald City Theatre, and more.​​
